Summer is right around the corner. The staff has been working hard to prepare the summer program.  Please make sure to call the front desk or stop in to get information on all of the summer programs. Staff Announcement
Joining the staff as one of our teaching professionals is Chris Sanford.  Chris has recently taken his USPTA Teaching Certification.  The USPTA is the oldest teaching organization in the world.  Adding Chris to our staff as a certified USPTA professional is just another way of us providing you, the Laurel Hill member, the best staff in Northwest Ohio.  Chris joins Max and Mark as  USPTA certified professionals.  Congratulations Chris and welcome to the teaching staff.

Pool Opening and 1st party of the summer
Pool opens March 24th at noon.  Mark your calendars for May 30th for our first pool party of the summer season from 1-4pm.  We will have music on the terrace, family float day and a cookout from 4-6pm.  Bring your own grill items and the club will supply lemonade, chips and paper products. (Weather permitting) Also, make sure to visit our web site, laurelhillclub.com, to get all the information on our aquatics programs.

Swim team swimsuits
If you missed the swim suit fitting no problem. This years team swim suit is the Speedo Sonic Splice. The team suit can be ordered through Wilkinson Sportswear. They are located at 3655 Centennial Rd. Sylvania, Ohio . 1/2 mile north of Central ave, on Centennial. Store hours are Monday thru Friday for 9 to 4:30 and by appointment. Swim team spiritwear is also available through Wilkinson's. Please call,419-842-0148,  to order your suit and spiritwear soon! Suits are limited......

Web Coupon
Make sure to go to laurelhillclub.com and check out our May coupon.  With the summer season starting we will continue to offer our “ultimate racquet repair”.  This coupon is for racquet restringing (3 levels to choose from) and a re-gripping.  Level one is for synthetic gut string at $25, level 2 is for strings such as premier and level 3 is for and hybrid string. You must present the coupon at the time of purchase and will be limited to 1 per family.

Future Stars Grand Prix (Special Tournament for 8 and under players only)
We hosted our third 8 and under tournament using the QuickStart.  Laurel Hill is the only facility currently running events using this format in Northwest Ohio.  We had 13 young future stars participate in the event.  Great job to all of the juniors and a HUGE THANK YOU to the parents that helped make the event a huge success.

Summer Programming and Travel Tournaments
Our summer junior programming is available.  We will once again be participating in junior team tennis (all levels) as well as traveling to at least one junior tournament as a group again this year.  The one event we will be traveling to as a team will be the Indiana State Open in Indianapolis, leaving July 15 and returning July 18.  It is very important that all players that would like to go again this year, play many tournaments to help them get in to this event.  There will be more details to come, but mark your calendars.  Also, we will have a pro(s) travel to the Midwest Closed with any of our juniors that Qualify. 

USTA Adult Summer League (Rain Schedule) and Team Practices
Kim has been working on preparing each team’s rain schedule.  The schedule will be done and at the front desk by May 9th.  Also, for teams that are practicing, you have two payment options.  You can charge a one time fee of $180 for 13 weeks of practice or $18 per time you come to practice.  Paying for the whole summer is a savings of over $50.

 

Good Luck
We would like to wish all of our high school players good luck in their upcoming league championships, sectionals, districts and the state championship!

Also, good luck to all of our USTA/Adult league teams as you start your summer season.  If there is anything we can do for you, please let us know.

Congratulation to the following juniors:
Alicia Nahhas for being selected to attend the Midwest Section Regional Training Center in Chicago, Illinois from May 23-25.  She was one of 24 players selected to attend this camp from over five states.

Kevin Brown, Ryan Brown, Olivia Rohrbacher and Rochelle Issa for being selected to represent Northwest Ohio at the Midwest Section Competition Training Center Sectional Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana.
